Ok I am gonna do a blog version of Nanowrimo and attempt to post something here every day of November.

Heh.

M's having good days and not so good days. Seems to me that the conflict he is having at school is linked to one particular teacher aid who is having a lot of struggle with all the kids. I like and respect her but I think she's on burn out.

K's doing OK. He fell on the stairs at my parents and we spent Friday night in the ER waiting for his chin to be stitched. In the event they were able to glue it. Yay! He struggled mightily poor dot. Idiot doctor from hell harassed me about vaccination -- took a while for me to realise he was actually offering tetanus vaccine which I was OK about with this sort of wound. Then he harassed me about the prozac. Actually asked me if a doctor prescribed it. Ummmmm, yeah I'm so the kind of parent that just gives my kid meds without a script. Then we had the fun scenario of him insisting on doing the tetanus jab in the buttock and me saying no way. Idiot doctor thought I was worried about the tetanus giving K constipation if it were given in the bum. WTF? I just wanted it given somewhere else that meant K would struggle less.

Went out to dinner with a group of people from a messageboard I frequent. Nice food, some good company but I think I'm getting too old to hang out with 20-something students.

Bad news about a dear friend has just pole-axed me and I am having a totally amotivated day. ::sigh:: Sometimes you just want to wave a wand and fix things YK?

K had his birthday yesterday and was very happy. It was the school trip to Brisbane Forest Park. We saw playpus, phascogales, gliders and lots of birds and turtles. We got to touch a python, a long necked turtle and a blue tongued lizard. the possum hid in her box and was so freaking cute.

G's back wound continues to break down and bleed. Am officially over the whole drama. yet another appt with specialist this afternoon and it damned well better not need to be opened and stitched because I am going out with my mother for my birthday tomorrow and do not wish to cancel.

Am pleased to discover I have lost significant weight without dieting. I got out the clothes from last summer which I could not fit and they fit! They really fit! Now if I can drop another dress size I will be very happy.

OK I am officially deeply pissed off with this election. Bloody hell how could the Libs get back in with such a vicotry?

This week has sucked mightily. G had a haematoma on Monday night and ended up at the ER in extreme pain. this delayed the healing of his wound so the stitches stayed in until today. He had a haematoma again last night but the stitches were pulled regardless.

M's growth hormone level/insulin thingy came back as borderline. Normal is 14, he got 15 which combined with all the symptoms and his other low level isn't enough to make me relax. Bugger it. Switching him from risperidone to aendep. Feh. I need a drug which combines the good points of both drugs. He's less depressed but more reactive. Still manageable though.

K's doing well on prozac. I suspect he's had hand foot and mouth disease but didn't shlep him to the doctor today to find out. If his hands are still bad on Monday we'll go then.

I turned 41. Went to Harbourtown and did shopping. Mostly for the kids though.

Am presently sweating the election. Tasmania appears to have swung to the Liberals but that's only to be expected after the old growth tree debate this week. Early days and it is going to be a close election. Only 2% of the vote counted so far and some polls haven't even closed yet. I'm not sure I like Latham but it's anybody but Howard at this stage ;)

I am feeling swift and impatient and I want my life to change in the very near future. Unfortunately I still do not know what I want to be when I grow up.

I'd had enough today and talked to M seriously about how he was feeling. He said he felt very depressed and unable to focus on anything. He's certainly irritable as all shit. I've started to transition him off the risperidone and onto endep again. When the tricyclic works, it's magic. He's been off it since April (OMFG no wonder I am feeling sick of it all, that's months of chaos we've been in). and with any luck he is no longer habituated. I really don't like him on risperidone. It's a nasty drug.

s rang and her kid's being discharged sometime this week. They told her he doesn't need meds and asked if she wanted to put him in care or whether she wanted to cope. ::sigh:: Poor her and poor kid. She's dropping him off here tomorrow at 8.30am because she's got a job interview.

G is officially horrible. Snappy, short tempered and just plain nasty. He really doesn't do well on lots of pain killers. The wound looks revolting.

I'm bored and restless. It's windy here today which always makes me restless.

Just having yet another one of those midlife crisis attacks. I look around me and it seems like everyone is doing something. Even the single parents are managing to work or study and meanwhile I just seem to accomplish nothing professional at all ever. But I can't decide what I want to be when I grow up. I'd love to do advocacy work in schools for kids with special needs but nobody will pay me to do that. I'd probably need a psych/special ed degree in any case and I do not want to do psychology.

I could always do some housework or gardening I suppose. I could also think about pitching my book to a few places but to do that I'd need to actually figure out what my pitch is.

On the plus side I have kept off the weight I lost last summer. Fished out my summer clothes and they are all looser than they were. I want to go down a dress size again this summer. Shame that the logical starting place to lose weight is to give up alcohol.

My dad's got a mediation meeting today with his last employer who ripped him off in various ways. I hope he comes out of it with money. there's a serious sum at stake but he doesn't expect to collect all of it.
